The Lord of Sipan Lambayeque Perú


Located in the coastal plain, the Department of Lambayeque combines desert areas, rich valleys and dry forests. Chiclayo, capital of the Department, is commercial ground between the coast, mountains and jungle north.

These lands were the cradle of culture Mochica, which ran from the 1st and 7th centuries BC, so currently Lambayeque is one of the most interesting historical places of the country. The famous Royal Tombs of Sipan, burials of important Mochica Lords were discovered in 1987. In addition to the archaeological site of Sipán, you can visit the modern Museum Royal Tombs of Sipán, which has the most extraordinary pieces of gold, were found in the excavations. Also, you can visit the Bruning Museum, located in the province of Lambayeque, and the Sicán Museum, located in the province of Ferreñafe.

Tucume is another archaeological site of unique beauty; its more than twenty pyramids of adobe about 40 meters high belonged to the Lambayeque culture and are surrounded by centuries-old vegetation and rich fauna. Another place of obligatory visit in Lambayeque is the Chaparri Ecological Reserve, located in the District of Chongoyape and aimed at the conservation of the dry forests and biodiversity which host.

Lambayeque boasts one of the best cuisines in the country; the exquisite rice with duck competes with the Ceviche in a contest where the guests are always the winners. The beautiful port and resort of Pimentel and the traditional village of viciously, with its houses and colonial temples in ruins, complement the attractions of this fascinating Department.
